What’s this?

March 17, 2010, I wrote a blogpost here which started with the following words:

This is an experiment intended to help me get this blog back on track. I have no idea if it will be successful, and I somehow doubt it, but I want to try: Can I, with no other help than my own imagination, come up with a hundred decent comic ideas in a hundred days? I start today, which means to fulfill my goal I have to have a hundred updates by June 24. I’ll give it a go.

I assume most of them will be plot ideas, but some of these ideas will also be ideas on new ways to make comics. And I haven’t read all the comics in the world, so I assume that some of these ideas will already be in use somewhere. If they are, I trust that you will let me know in the comments where to find them.

So… yeah. From March 17 to June 24 2010, I tried to come up with one new comic idea each day. And since I’ve now written a hundred ideas, each dated at some time between March 17 and June 24, I guess I can say that the project was a success!

Can I use one of your ideas?

Sure you can! That’s why I’m writing them here. You can use my ideas for free, even in commercial projects. All that I ask in return is that you credit me for the idea (no, that doesn’t mean you have to put “Created by Me and Olaf Moriarty Solstrand” in your header, just give me a small mention in an annotation or on the comic’s “about” page or anywhere). Also, while not really a requirement, I would love it if you told me about it if you used one of my ideas. That’s basically all the rules I set – if you can live with that, feel free to use any ideas you like.

Congratulations on this incredible feat, Olaf! I absolutely think that this is one of the more impressive things I’ve seen done on a blog, and I find myself in absolute awe of the sheer viability of your 100 ideas. I might not be a fan of every single one of them, but at your best, I think you managed to trot out some truly spectacular things, and at your worst, the ideas were nothing short of “huh, that _might_ work…”.

Again, my most sincere contrafibularities. Well done, sir!

I was just talking to my big brother all about this the other day. I also noticed an article on that over at the bowa internet site. Isnt it comical how these things show up in bunches. to be truthful, it is kind of menacing.
